A well-established and growing real estate ownership, development, and property management company with a significant portfolio of residential properties throughout The Bronx and Westchester County is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its expanding legal team.

Represent the company's landlord and property management entities in Landlord-Tenant matters.
Handle a caseload primarily involving non-payment eviction proceedings.
Appear regularly in Bronx Housing Court and New Rochelle Housing Court.
Prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, notices, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and provide practical legal guidance to the General Counsel and property management teams.
Negotiate settlements and resolutions with tenants and opposing counsel.
Handle motion practice and other litigation requirements under New York Landlord-Tenant Law.
Handle matters involving:
Non-payment proceedings
Holdover proceedings
Commercial Landlord-Tenant matters

Section 8 matters
Rent-stabilized and rent-controlled apartments
Squatter proceedings
Motion practice
Work closely with the General Counsel on litigation strategy, case management, and legal issues.
Maintain organized and accurate case files and meet all court deadlines.
Communicate effectively with property management personnel, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties.
Manage a significant caseload while balancing courtroom appearances with office-based legal work.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law in New York.
3–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a focus on Landlord-Tenant litigation.
Strong understanding of New York Landlord-Tenant Law and Housing Court procedures.

Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and advocate for clients.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage a substantial caseload independently.
Strong courtroom presence and communication skills.
Comfortable spending significant time in court.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required, as frequent travel between the White Plains office and Bronx/Westchester courts is an essential part of the position.
Candidates should ideally reside in The Bronx or Westchester County or within a reasonable commuting distance.
